Browser Game Pick: Doooors (Hempuli)
I don't think my brain has hurt this much in a while. Doooors is a platforming puzzler by Hempuli aka Arvi Teikari, in which you need to reach the crystal in each level. This involves picking up doors, throwing them into useful spots, then going through them.
The first couple of levels are nice and tame to let you understand what's going on, then the difficulty levels are cranked right up. The number of times that I thought I was on the verge of working a level out, then was shot down a second later, is really quite embarrassing. It's really challenging stuff, although I do wish the controls were a little less awkward - I found myself jumping to my death rather than picking up something plenty of times.

Give Your Best Revenge Story, Win a Copy of Shank
Shank was released via the Xbox Live Arcade last week, and is as fun as I hoped it was going to be. Just watch the above video for a glimpse of the ridiculously splendid moves you can pull off as our beefy, one-track minded hero (although ignore the EA symbol at the start - it started off as an indie game, and the indie spirit is still there!).
The game follows the story of Shank, who is on a mission of brutal revenge. We've got a copy of the game to give away to one lucky IndieGames reader, and winning it is simple: give us your best story of personal revenge. Maybe a friend betrayed your trust and you gave them a taste of their own medicine, or perhaps you were made to look stupid and getting your own back was the only feasible option... whatever the case, post your best story in the comments below, and we'll pick the best one at 6pm GMT tomorrow (September 3rd).
Don't forget to enter your email address so that we know where to send the code to if you win! (Email addresses aren't publicized). Good luck!

Trailer: Chaos Invaders (Bit Battalion)
I don't think I've seen such a fitting name for a game in a while. Chaos Invaders is an utterly mental take on the classic shooter, in which dead enemies can be used as weapons.
Shoot an invader down and catch them on your ship, then launch them back at the remaining baddies. The boss battles look like stupidly good fun - you can chip pieces off a huge mothership, collect them all in a big pile then fire them back and cause havoc. The game will land on the webs for free any day now, so we'll make sure to keep you posted.

Trailer: Pirates of New Horizons (Exit Strategy Entertainment)
I've been holding off on posting about Pirates of New Horizons for a little while, as I wanted to see more details emerge first. It's a 3D action adventure game set in a world of floating islands and pirate ships with wings.
You take control of Annha, a young pirate with a thirst for treasure. After being attacked by alien pirates (let's assume Annha is a 'good' pirate, then), she must find a way to repair her ship and escape an island, while searching for treasure and gems at the same time. There are puzzles to overcome and combat to be unleashed, with special items to use, side-quests to partake in, and some pretty lovely sights to see.
The final version will probably cost monies, but a free browser-based version will be available sometime in the next month, that will contain a heavy amount of content. So that should be something to look forward to! Check the official site for more info.
